These passes provide access to all sessions on the selected day, including lunch, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, and evening events scheduled for that day.

Companion Passes include access to exhibits, lunches, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, and the Welcome Reception. These passes are strictly intended for family members or friends accompanying a registered DIS attendee.

NB. Please do remember to check visa requirements dependent upon your country of origin or residency.

Registration Policy

The DIS conference is committed to being an inclusive, accessible, and student-friendly venue. To maintain this environment while covering the costs of hosting a world-class international event, we have implemented the following registration policy:

Each accepted submission for Paper and Pictorial must be covered by at least one unique full registration. (Note: This requirement is waived only if the submission is authored and presented solely by students.)

Why is this policy necessary

To keep the conference accessible to our diverse global community, many of our registration tiers are heavily subsidized. Our ability to offer these lower rates depends on a balanced ratio of full registrations:

Prioritizing Student Participation: We take great pride in our high student attendance. Because student registration fees are set significantly below the actual cost of hosting an attendee, each student participant is essentially subsidized by approximately two full registrations.

Global Equity (ACM SIGCHI Categories C, H, and I): DIS is honored to receive a large volume of submissions from researchers in ACM SIGCHI Category H and I regions. To remain inclusive, these fees are deeply discounted. Each of these registrations requires the support of two to three full registrations to bridge the funding gap.

A Sustainable Community Model: While a full registration fee sits above the average cost per attendee, these funds are the essential engine that allows us to welcome the students and international colleagues who make our community vibrant.

By requiring one unique full registration per paper, we ensure that every accepted work contributes to the foundational costs of the conference, allowing DIS to remain a home for diverse voices and the next generation of researchers.

If you have any question regarding the registration policy, please contact chairs@dis2026.acm.org.

Registration Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received on or before 7 May 2026 will be eligible for a refund, less a 10% administration fee.

After 7 May 2026, no refunds will be issued, except in cases of visa denial. If a visa application is denied, the registration fee will be refunded, less a processing fee.

All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to registration@dis2026.acm.org. Failure to notify us of your cancellation will result in continued liability for the registration fees.

All applicable refunds will be processed after the conference. Any bank service charges and administrative fees will be deducted from the refunded amount.

SIGCHI Categories (Country List)

DIS adopts SIGCHI’s country categorization system for pricing to enhance global accessibility of the conference. Countries are grouped into three categories:

Category C: Full price

Category H: 40% of the cost (60% discount)

Category I: 25% of the cost (75% discount)

If you are registering from a SIGCHI Category H or I country, ensure that you apply the discount code before completing checkout.

Category C (Full Price)

All countries not listed in category H or I.

Category H (60% Discount)

Albania

Argentina

Armenia

Azerbaijan

Belarus

Belize

Bosnia

Botswana

Brazil

Bulgaria

China

Colombia

Costa Rica

Cuba

Dominica

Dominican Republic

Ecuador

El Salvador

Equatorial Guinea

Fiji

Gabon

Georgia

Grenada

Guatemala

Indonesia

Iraq

Jamaica

Kazakhstan

Kosovo

Libya

North Macedonia

Malaysia

Maldives

Marshall Islands

Mauritius

Mexico

Montenegro

Namibia

Palau

Palestine

Paraguay

Peru

Republic Moldova

Russian Federation

Saint Lucia

Serbia

South Africa

St. Vincent

Suriname

Thailand

Tonga

Turkey

Turkmenistan

Tuvalu

Venezuela

Category I (75% Discount)

Afghanistan

Algeria

Angola

Bangladesh

Benin

Bhutan

Bolivia

Burkina Faso

Burundi

C African Rp

Cambodia

Cameroon

Cape Verde

Chad

Comoros

Congo

Congo, Democratic Republic

Djibouti

Egypt

Eritrea

Eswatini

Ethiopia

Federal State of Micronesia

Gambia

Ghana

Guinea

Guinea-Bissau

Haiti

Honduras

India

Iran

Ivory Coast

Jordan

Kenya

Kiribati

Kyrgyzstan

Lebanon

Lesotho

Liberia

Madagascar

Malawi

Mali

Mauritania

Mongolia

Morocco

Mozambique

Myanmar

Nepal

Nicaragua

Niger

Nigeria

North Korea

Pakistan

Papua New Guinea

People’s Dem.
