The DIS 2027 Doctoral Consortium offers doctoral students a unique opportunity to present their research, receive constructive feedback, and exchange ideas with researchers and peers from design-related fields worldwide in a stimulating, open, and supportive environment.
During the Consortium, each participant will give a brief presentation of their research project, followed by a discussion led by another participant who has reviewed the paper in advance and prepared at least three discussion points. Presentations and discussions will be organized into thematic sessions based on participants’ research interests and areas of focus.
We welcome all design-related research topics within the conference’s contribution areas: Critical Computing and Design Theory, Design Methods and Processes, Artifacts and Systems, Research Through Design, Creativity in Interaction Design, and AI and Design.
You must be enrolled as a doctoral student at the time of submitting your application and at the time of the conference. You will get the most value from attending if you are already in possession of a clear topic and research approach, have advanced beyond the very early stage in your thesis research, but are not yet in the finalizing phase of your work. We are expecting to accept up to 16 participants.
The doctoral consortium will take place in person at the KTH University in Stockholm, Sweden
